Seminary scholarships are available once a year for any certified candidate of the Minnesota Annual Conference up to a maximum of three full-time scholarships. Full time annual scholarships are given in the amounts of
Part-time enrollment is pro-rated both in terms of amount and number of scholarships awarded; however, the equivalent of three full-time scholarships ($15,000 or $9,000 or $6,000 as noted above) may not be exceeded.
In order to qualify for a seminary scholarship, the following criteria must be met:
The applicant must be a Certified Candidate for Ministry or Licensed Local Pastor in the Minnesota Annual Conference. The applicant must be a student in a graduate theological seminary approved by the University Senate of the United Methodist Church. Financial need must be documented through the seminary’s Financial Aid Office. The student must submit a statement from the seminary Registrar indicating the full-time/part-time status for the academic year in which the request is made. The applicant’s District Superintendent must confirm the applicant’s status as a Certified Candidate by approving this application. The applicant is responsible for submitting all information requested.
