Ministerial Education Fund Grants for Continuing Education Course or Event

Clergy must complete this form to apply for a Ministerial Education Fund grant for a continuing education course or event.

Clergy may apply for grants up to $700 each quadrennium for continuing education courses or events. This support is intended to supplement, but not replace, local budgets supporting clergy continuing education.  For purposes of administration of Ministerial Education Fund grants, where applicable, a quadrennium shall run January 1 through December 31 consistent with the budgeting and reporting calendar for these funds.

Applications for MEF grants for a Continuing Education Course or Event may be made at the time costs are incurred, such as at the time of registration, or following completion of the course or event, but no later than three months following completion of the education course or event. 

Clergy may apply for (1) one Continuing Education grant in the amount of $700 during a quadrennium; or (2) more than one Continuing Education grant over the span of a quadrennium, each in an amount less than $700 until a total of $700 is reached.

Grants are assigned to the quadrennium in which the application is approved by the Board.  At the end of a quadrennium, in order to be included in the current quadrennium, applications for a Continuing Education Course of Event must be received by the Board no later than December 1.  Only one Continuing Education grant, up to a maximum of $700, will be approved for a single educational course or event.

Grant applications are normally reviewed monthly by the Board of Ordained Ministry.  Once approved, payments are typically processed within one week.
